About the role
The Order Filler is responsible for accurately selecting, pulling, and preparing finished goods for shipment or transfer based on customer orders, sales slips, and other shipping documentation. This role ensures inventory is handled efficiently and orders are completed according to specifications while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately fill shipping and transfer orders for finished goods from stored inventory.
- Select, pull, and prepare merchandise according to customer orders, sales slips, and shipping instructions.
- Verify order accuracy and identify any items that are missing, damaged, or unavailable.
- Document filled and omitted items and maintain accurate records of outgoing orders.
- Requisition additional inventory and report stock shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including stock organization and cycle counts as needed.
- Ensure products are packaged, labeled, and staged for shipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and storage area.
- Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, order fulfillment, shipping, or inventory experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer and inventory management skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment.
