Order Entry Technician
Responsibilities
- Receive new prescriptions electronically or over the phone from long-term care facilities and other healthcare providers.
- Gather and verify complete patient information and follow the data entry process through to prescription fulfillment.
- Accept and process prescription refill authorizations via phone or fax from prescribers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accurately enter prescription information into pharmacy software systems and maintain precise electronic records.
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while handling prescription data.
- Communicate effectively with facility staff, prescribers, and internal team members to resolve questions and issues.
- Independently and collaboratively resolve customer service and data entry issues related to prescriptions and refills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in required pharmacy software and maintain excellent general computer skills for daily tasks.
- Use strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve as backup for incoming calls regarding refills, troubleshooting dispensing machines, and other escalations.
- Contribute to a supportive team environment and collaborate with colleagues in a small group setting.
- Work toward operating independently in the role after an initial training period of approximately 3–4 months.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Active registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as required for pharmacy technicians.
- Experience working in a long-term care pharmacy is preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mendota Heights, MN.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
