Order Entry Pharmacy Technician

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for order entry and triage related to monthly medications. This role involves managing incoming calls and directing them appropriately, as well as communicating with LTC facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians. The technician receives drug orders via faxes and other forms and answers medication-related questions, utilizing Frameworks and Frameworks ECM to perform duties. The technician works in an office environment with their own desk, handling repetitive tasks while processing a variety of orders that require careful attention, and manages incoming phone calls, faxes, and electronic orders. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN, fully onsite.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient profiles.
• Receive prescriptions and refill requests, ensuring that information is complete and accurate.
• Process prescriptions using third-party insurance billing.
• Answer telephone calls to assist facilities and patients with questions, referring them to the pharmacist for medication information as needed.

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the state of MN.
• 6+ months of pharmacy experience, including familiarity with SIG codes.

Skills

• Proficiency with Frameworks and Frameworks ECM systems.
• Knowledge of SIG codes for prescription processing.
• Strong telephone communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple incoming calls, faxes, and electronic orders.
