About the role
Based in Fairfield, OH the Order Entry Clerk position will perform essential job functions associated order entry with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Reviews industry and customer specifications to accurately create shop travelers, utilizing applicable standards, customer documentation, and input from the Planning department.
- Communicates with customers as needed to clarify or resolve purchase order discrepancies.
- Affords assistance with various administrative tasks as required, including answering phones and general office support.
- Reports any unusual issues or irregularities to the supervisor promptly.
- Promotes and practices workplace safety and good housekeeping at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the care and proper handling of customer inventory, performing all duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.
- Expected to report to work on time, follow instructions, interact effectively with co-workers, adhere to company policies and procedures, and accept constructive feedback.
- Serves as a backup for essential Shipping/Receiving functions, including operating a forklift when necessary.
- Creates customer profiles in the ERP system and submits AX setup requests to the Office Manager.
Requirements
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of experience in Data Entry/Customer Service in manufacturing or related industry.
- Requires basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects.
- Requires knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer and metallurgical standards.
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office/basic computer applications and good understanding of basic math
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
- Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
