Job Summary
The Order Entry Specialist is responsible for entering shipment information into the logistics management software (LMS), ensuring correct and accurate information for Routing and Dispatch personnel, and updating Customer and Carrier Sales reps with any necessary changes.

Roles and Responsibilities
Create Orders and Shipments: Enter customer load information into the LMS.
Manage Appointments: Obtain pickup and delivery appointments via phone, email, or website; reschedule appointments as needed.
Verify Information: Verify emails containing customer information changes and ensure customer website information matches the LMS.
Aid Sales: Assist with job-related tasks for Customer and Carrier Sales reps.
Meet Productivity Goals: Achieve individual productivity targets (e.g., shipments entered, phone calls made).
Routing and Dispatch: Perform routing, dispatch, and traffic duties as needed.
Build Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with shipping and receiving locations.
Support Team: Assist team members, shift supervisors, and managers with other related duties.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent: Required.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred: Preferred.
Transportation Industry Knowledge: General understanding or knowledge of the transportation industry.
Team Experience: Prior experience working in teams to accomplish goals and work assignments.
Logistics Experience: 2-3 years of logistics/transportation experience, including knowledge of transportation procedures and regulations.
Customer Service Experience: 1 year of recent communication experience via phone, in a sales, marketing, or customer service role.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
Physical Demands: Sedentary role; regular standing, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands/fingers to operate computer equipment and handle/lift objects up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position has assigned work shifts which include daytime business hours.
