About the role
Build customer orders in preparation for shipment, ensuring they are accurately fulfilled.
Responsibilities
- Utilize assigned tickets to accurately pull products from the warehousing area and build orders in preparation for shipment.
- Stage and load product in accordance with company standards.
- Move product throughout the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner, both manually and utilizing material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.).
- Safely utilize material handling equipment.
- Count and inspect product; help to resolve order discrepancies.
- Minimize damaged products.
- Comply with all safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety.
- Exhibit ethical conduct at all times.
- Consistent, regular attendance is an essential job function.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to read and follow directions and work orders.
- Ability to follow all safety requirements and protocols.
- Good team-player with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
- Some light computer experience is helpful.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 55 lbs (moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury).
- Must be able to build orders at a minimum case count of 120 per hour.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This role is considered a safety-sensitive position.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment where the temperature is unregulated and dependent upon outdoor temperatures.
Schedule
Typically 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (1st shift) or 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (2nd shift), or until all orders are built for the next day's deliveries, Monday through Friday. Some occasional weekend or off-shift work may be needed.
