About the role
Specialized Bicycle Components runs its global finance, supply chain, and commerce operations on Oracle. This role owns that platform: its architecture, its security and compliance posture, the Oracle Cloud Services relationship, and the platform work underpinning the migration to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. The position combines hands-on engineering with platform ownership.
Responsibilities
Oracle Database and EBS Engineering
- Provide technical leadership for Oracle 19c and EBS R12.x across Production, Test, Development, and Disaster Recovery
- Design and maintain highly available architecture built on RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM
- Develop backup, recovery, and business continuity strategy
- Plan and execute patching, upgrades, cloning, refreshes, and performance tuning
- Establish runbooks and operational standards supporting 24x7 availability
- Lead root cause analysis to reduce recurring incidents
- Account for test coverage and execution ahead of patching and platform changes
- Communicate maintenance windows, change timing, and expected impact across the technology organization
OCI Architecture, Security, and Compliance
- Own OCI architecture aligned to Oracle Well-Architected and landing-zone standards
- Design compartments, tenancy and IAM governance, network design, and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
- Own Oracle SOX IT General Controls: access reviews, segregation of duties, change management, and audit evidence
- Manage encryption and key management, data masking, vulnerability management, and cloud cost governance
The Oracle CSS Partnership
- Manage Oracle Cloud Services as a delivery program rather than a support queue
- Set priorities, plan capacity, track milestones, and hold CSS accountable for SLAs, availability, and incident resolution
- Own the statement of work and change requests
- Contribute to contract renewal discussions and steward Specialized’s Oracle licensing posture
The Fusion Migration
- Own the systems and platform beneath the EBS-to-Fusion migration: target platform architecture, environment strategy, data migration, and coexistence between EBS and Fusion during the transition
- Partner with Global Enterprise Applications and application leads to plan and execute each phase
- Ensure the platform is ready, secure, and performing when required
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with the Global Enterprise Applications (GEA) team on demand intake, ticket triage, and execution for Oracle work
- Coordinate on releases, environment availability, and application changes that cross the infrastructure and applications boundary
- Participate in the Global Tech Prioritization process, providing technical assessment, effort estimation, and architectural input
- Collaborate regularly with Finance, Supply Chain, Security, and Infrastructure teams
Thought Leadership and Technology Innovation
- Define and maintain the long-term architecture roadmap for Specialized’s Oracle landscape
- Evaluate emerging capabilities including AI and advanced automation within Fusion
- Bring forward proposals ahead of operational demand
- Serve as a technical advisor to Technology leadership and mentor engineers across the organization

- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration supporting mission-critical enterprise applications, including 8+ years of hands-on EBS R12.x administration
- Deep Oracle 19c expertise across RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and performance tuning
- Hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience
- Strong Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform administration experience, including VCN design, network segmentation, IAM governance, compartment strategy, console administration, and cloud security controls

- Demonstrated program leadership, including planning, dependency tracking, and stakeholder reporting
- Experience directing a managed-services vendor in a 24x7 production environment
- Working knowledge of SOX ITGC and audit controls, identity and access management, and cloud security practice
