About the role

The Planet Group is partnering with a client to hire an Oracle Cloud Financials Lead. This role requires the resource to be onsite a minimum of 1 day per week in either the New York City or Boston offices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration, implementation, and optimization of Oracle Fusion Financials modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management.
  • Translate business and finance requirements into scalable Oracle Fusion configurations, accounting rules, and technical solutions.
  • Partner with Finance leaders, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand operational and financial process requirements and align system capabilities accordingly.
  • Analyze end-to-end business processes to ensure financial transactions flow accurately from upstream systems such as Procurement, Inventory Management, Order Management, Billing, and Distribution into Oracle Financials.
  • Design, review, and oversee integrations between Oracle Fusion Financials and enterprise applications, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Cook up and provide technical leadership to offshore development teams, system integrators, and implementation partners to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with architects and integration teams to develop scalable, supportable, and compliant financial system solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Review and validate financial data interfaces, accounting entries, reconciliations, trial balances, and data migration activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead technical design sessions, solution reviews, and architecture discussions while promoting Oracle best practices and standard functionality.
  • Support and oversee system testing activities, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and defect resolution.
  • Troubleshoot complex functional, integration, and accounting issues across Oracle Financials and interconnected enterprise systems.
  • Ensure system configurations support financial reporting, audit requirements, internal controls, compliance standards, and financial close processes.
  • Maintain project progress, manage technical risks, and communicate status updates to Finance, IT leadership, and project stakeholders.
  • Support deployment planning, cutover activities, go-live execution, and post-production stabilization efforts.
  • Lead financial data conversion and migration efforts, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Validate Oracle Subledger Accounting (SLA) configurations and accounting flows to ensure accurate financial transaction processing.
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance on Oracle Fusion Financials functionality, technical design, integration strategies, and financial process best practices.
  • Partner with QA teams to define testing strategies, review test results, and ensure successful end-to-end process validation.
  • Evaluate impacts of system enhancements, process changes, and new integrations on downstream financial reporting and upstream operational processes.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve system performance, automate manual processes, and enhance the overall Finance technology landscape.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Oracle Fusion Financials implementation, configuration, and support.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Financial modules: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Subledger Accounting (SLA) and accounting rule configuration.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise system integrations between Oracle Financials and operational systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Informatica, APIs, web services, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience with financial data migration, conversion, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Understanding of ERP architecture and end-to-end business process flows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex financial system, integration, and data issues.
  • Knowledge of system testing methodologies including SIT, UAT, regression, and production validation.
  • Experience leading Oracle Financials implementation workstreams through full project lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate offshore development teams and third-party implementation partners.
  • Strong project coordination and delivery management skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers, analysts, and technical team members.
  • Experience facilitating technical design and architecture reviews.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with: Finance Leadership, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Integration Teams, QA Teams, Executive Leadership.
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical business users.
