About the Role
Automus is seeking an Oracle Fusion Technical Architect to lead efforts supporting diverse business needs of clients and implementing various Oracle Cloud and E-Business Suite applications using Automus proprietary tools and methodology. This role functions as a team leader for small to large projects, managing the technical track on client engagements, defining technical architecture, and extending Oracle Cloud Fusion with technical solutions.
Leadership Duties
- Lead and guide the work of technical staff
- Coach and mentor others to improve their knowledge and skills
- Coordinate and provide leadership in the development of project plans, analysis, design, and implementation of complex mission-critical projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members
- Research and propose new technologies for improving performance and scalability of applications
- Lead and participate in implementations, enhancements, and extending Oracle Applications
- Develop and migrate to new technologies, identify strategies and opportunities for innovation and automation
- Participate in the interview process and provide feedback on applicant qualifications and hiring
- Work closely with other leads and managers within the organization and foster collaborative relationships across team members
Requirements Gathering
- Clear understanding of the implementation life cycle using Oracle Cloud
- Interact extensively with clients through detailed discussions with managers, process owners, and users across various business functions and geographical locations
- Run design and solution sessions with Automus and client team members
- Solution, document, test, and maintain technical enhancements to Cloud, including Reports, Interfaces, Data Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows (RICEW) using OIC, standard Oracle APIs, and tools
- Solution standalone applications using Oracle OCI to integrate with Cloud Fusion using appropriate UX design as required
- Build security requirements and best practices into all solutions given the client’s security landscape
- Recommend technical architecture and middleware for each client situation and present/discuss solutions with C-Level staff
- Prepare design/solution and estimate work efforts for proposed technical solutions
- Actively contribute to established implementation methodology around RAID logs and other methods to document risks, actions, issues, and dependencies
- Ensure design/solution is strictly maintained, enhancements are documented clearly, approved, and communicated to all client users, including C-level executives, through version control management
- Ensure cross-functional communication to involve other technical and functional consultants and users in decision-making processes
- Lead client teams in discussions to adopt best practices in implementing and maintaining technical solutions
Analysis, Documentation, and Setup
- Set up Oracle OCI technical architecture to meet client’s business requirements across the proposed technical solution, utilizing DBAs and Cloud Admins as necessary
- Analyze and research workarounds and design extensions/custom solutions for requirements that cannot be met with standard solutions
- Contribute to best practice testing and validation methods for the technical solution
- Work with business users to test the entire process after completing development and resolve all reported issues
- Raise issues with Oracle for analysis and fix of bugs in standard application features
- Resolve issues/needs working with Oracle consultants internationally and around the clock
- Document proper coding standards and best practices for development, version control, and clear migration instructions into the final/production environment after complete testing, using Automus standards
Sales Duties
- Collaborate with the Sales/Pre-Sales Team as needed
- Work with Sales/Pre-Sales Team to develop proposals, product demonstrations, and statements of work
- Assist in estimating the effort and time required for additional work and enhancements
- Maintain effective relationships with multiple clients and/or vendors
- Assist in maintaining a professional market image for Oracle Cloud
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a consulting environment or related industry experience implementing Oracle Applications and Products, with a minimum of 5+ years working directly with Oracle Cloud Fusion Applications
- Experience with complex extensions, standalone applications, and other creative solutions with Oracle Cloud Fusion/OIC/OCI/PaaS: define architecture, technical specifications, oversight of development, plan testing and validation, performance testing, and develop post go-live maintenance plans
- Knowledge and understanding of SDLC best practices, including automated code/configuration build and deployment life cycles, as well as code quality and unit testing
- Practical experience with processes and tables/APIs for Oracle Cloud Financials, Supply Chain, HCM, and other data sources
- Practical experience performing integrations between OIC and third-party applications both inbound and outbound (file-based, web service, and XML-based). Knowledge in XSD, WSDL, SOAP, XSLT, and REST
- Technical working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Java, XML, JDeveloper, Oracle BI Publisher, APEX, Visual Builder Cloud Service, OIC, Groovy Scripting, FBDI, ADFDi, and Cloud Framework native to Oracle Fusion Application
- Technical working knowledge of platforms/databases including OCI, Containers, ADB, ATP, DBCS, and Oracle Database to build complex interfaces and standalone applications
- Experience in Data Warehousing, ETL technologies, and Analytics solutions is a plus
- Experience implementing mobile device technology is a plus
- Additional non-Oracle middleware experience is a plus
- Several years of consulting experience working with C-level executives to solution overall technical architectures
- Able to understand underlying issues to design alternatives, highlight risks appropriately, and work independently
- Able to facilitate issue resolution and guide the team as part of day-to-day tasks
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, with a can-do approach
- Work independently and manage multiple task assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Interact effectively with team and clients through in-person meetings, chat, email, phone, and video conferencing
- Excellent verbal and written communication along with strong analytical skills
- Resolve problems in a timely and effective manner, involving project managers and executive management as appropriate
- Demonstrate high-level computer skills and knowledge in Office 365 environment including Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Visio, and SharePoint
Schedule
Remote from home location in the United States. Ability to travel nationwide up to 25% to client sites.
