About the role

The Distribution SME serves as the senior functional expert for Distribution operations within the Oracle Fusion ERP transformation. This individual owns the detailed business processes supporting Order Management, Inventory, Fulfillment, Logistics, Shipping, and Returns while partnering closely with the Solution Design Lead to ensure those processes integrate seamlessly into the overall ERP solution. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting wholesale distribution environments and understands the complete operational lifecycle—from purchase orders through warehouse operations, inventory management, customer fulfillment, shipping, returns, and financial impacts.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed business processes for Order Management, Inventory, Fulfillment, Logistics, Shipping, and Returns
• Partner with the Solution Design Lead to integrate distribution processes into the overall ERP solution
• Gather business requirements and translate them into ERP solutions
• Drive business process improvement and optimization
• Facilitate workshops with business users
• Collaborate across Finance, Operations, and IT organizations
• Investigate issues and drive solutions to completion

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience supporting Distribution, Supply Chain, Order Management, or Logistics operations
• Strong Oracle ERP or Oracle Fusion functional experience
• Business process transformation experience (beyond just Oracle configuration)
• Deep expertise in:

  • Inventory
  • Fulfillment
  • Logistics / warehouse
  • Shipping
  • Returns
  • Order-to-Cash
• Proven business process improvement and optimization experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ownership mentality with a willingness to investigate issues and drive solutions
