Oracle Cloud Engineer

About the Role

This individual will lead efforts to architect, manage, and optimize Azure and Oracle Cloud infrastructure to ensure it meets the firm’s business needs. This role will drive collaboration to create easy-to-use, self-service tools for application teams to deploy and consume cloud infrastructure aligned with Edward Jones' technology strategy and security requirements.

The focus areas include cloud infrastructure management, automation, security, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud engineering initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-based applications and services in Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
• Design, configure, and maintain virtual machines, storage accounts, and other cloud resources.
• Drive automation of cloud operations using tools like Terraform Enterprise, GitHub, and Azure Policy.
• Implement and enforce cloud security practices to safeguard data and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
• Stay updated with the latest Azure and Oracle Cloud features and industry trends to recommend improvements and optimizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, preferably in Azure and/or Oracle Cloud.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, or similar).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.

Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect) are a plus.
