Position Description
Nexlogica is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Cloud Administrator to join a great team. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing organization’s Oracle databases hosted on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our database systems, as well as providing guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.
Skills Required
- Possess knowledge and experience in analysis and development of conceptual and detail designs for DB systems in OCI.
- Possess effective communication skills to collaborate with customer departments across LA County and project stakeholders.
- Ability to develop detailed project documents with project requirements and timelines.
- Ability to develop and share detailed technical knowledge and documentation to build, support, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle DB systems in OCI.
- Skilled in Oracle DB performance tuning in OCI.
- Skilled in developing automation scripts for routine DB maintenance jobs using tools such as Unix Shell scripting, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Committed to provide knowledge transfer to DB support staff on processes and procedures developed.
Experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in systems development, analysis, Oracle database system management and support.
- At least three (3) years of recent Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) work experience required.
- Senior level experience in the following areas:
- Oracle database upgrades from versions 12c to 19c and above;
- building and configuring new Oracle DBs in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI);
- planning, deploying, managing Oracle Security Patches for DBs in OCI;
- configuring and deploying Oracle Grid architecture;
- migrating Oracle database systems from on premise Linux, Unix to OCI;
- Oracle replication methods such as Data Guard;
- developing automation scripts using Shell scripting, Python, CLI, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.;
- DevOps tool;
- designing Oracle database backups, restores, disaster recovery processes;
- Oracle Enterprise Manager; configuring and managing Oracle RAC;
- documentation on processes used and developed for knowledge transfer to support staff.
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field.
- Oracle database certifications, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications, or other public Cloud certifications.
Additional Information
- A Hybrid telework option will be determined on case-by-case basis. Candidate will need to provide their own computing device (desktop/laptop with video capability) to securely connect to the county network.
- Approximately 3-hours of overtime per month may be required.
