About the role

We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient groups.
  • Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
  • Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Work Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Certifications Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Certification in Clinical Specialty Area.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to be detailed oriented.
  • Good time management skills and ability to be work in a fast-paced environment and be self-directed.
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills and ability to demonstrate good judgement and supervise or manage others.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
