OR Technician

About the role

The OR Technician delivers surgical care within the scope of practice, ensuring patient safety and adherence to ethical standards. They work as part of an interdisciplinary team, utilizing sterile techniques, and are responsible for independently scrubbed surgical procedures, effective communication, and reporting safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile techniques and assist in surgical procedures
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure safety protocols
• Delegate patient care appropriately and collaborate with healthcare providers
• Evaluate and set priorities for patient interventions
• Report hazards and medical errors
• Carry out other duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program with clinical hours
• National Certification in Surgical Technology and BLS certification
• Willingness to take on-call emergencies
• Preferred prior surgical tech experience
