OR Technician

About the role

The role of a surgical technologist involves assisting surgeons during pediatric intraoperative procedures, adhering to AORN and OSA standards. They collaborate with healthcare team members to provide cost-effective patient care, ensuring excellent customer service for patients, families, nurses, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile technique
• Prepare age-appropriate instrumentation
• Utilize physicians' preference cards
• Pass instruments during surgery
• Participate in quality improvement activities
• Serve as a role model, coach, patient advocate
• PRACTICE open communication with a positive attitude

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited school
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• CPR certification (preferred at hire or obtained within two weeks)

Flexibility

• Flexibility to work across main and south campuses
• Potential call duties

Schedule

Hours are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7 AM to 7 PM.
