OR Tech - Part Time

Position Summary The Operating Room Technician assists the surgical team in delivering high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. Under supervision, they apply aseptic techniques, sterilization principles, and handle surgical instruments with precision. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. They collaborate with team members to ensure sterility, proper equipment setup, and accurate instrument and sponge counts, supporting optimal perioperative outcomes. The technician actively participates in fulfilling the organization's mission and aligns with its core values and quality improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with staff and physicians.Communicate effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently.Assemble supplies, monitor sterility, and sterilize instruments as needed.Verify equipment functionality and assist in maintaining a sterile environment.Support high-quality, patient-centered care following the Watson Model of Care.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma and BLS certification required.Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.At least 18 months of experience in an acute care perioperative setting; internal candidates with certification may be considered.Knowledge of surgical technologist training, infection control, instrument sterilization, and injury prevention.Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
