Responsibilities
- Collaborates and coordinates patient care activities among the interdisciplinary patient care team.
- Identifies needs and develops or modifies plans of care, supervising other healthcare team members.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians, sales consultants, internal customers, and management team.
- Engages in unit/service line budgeting processes to ensure a cost-effective, quality-focused environment.
- Provides input for personnel performance evaluations and recommends pertinent education.
- Coordinates shift operations, activities, resources, and associates.
- Serves as a technical resource and performs similar duties with staff.
- Monitors and reports departmental compliance with policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and assists with staff orientation and training.
- Documents and reports supply, instrument, and equipment utilization and maintenance.
- Schedules meetings with medical leadership, physicians, and other key staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- 2+ years of experience [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state.
Skills
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Preferred]
- Ability to evaluate staffing and equipment needs [Preferred]
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports for analytical review [Preferred]
- Ability to think critically, make sound decisions, and manage multiple competing priorities [Preferred]
- Ability to interact appropriately with patients, families, staff, physicians, and the community [Preferred]
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Preferred]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Preferred]
