About the role

We are seeking an Operating Room PRN RN CALL ONLY to join our healthcare family. This position is PRN On Call Only – weeknight and/or weekend night.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional surgical nursing care to patients using the nursing process and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare delivery team
• Ensure effective communication with surgical technologists, other RNs, surgeons, patients, families, and the surgical team
• Assist in emergency, elective, and scheduled surgical cases
• Work alongside surgical teams to ensure patients receive optimal care
• Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients’ families
• Organize supplies needed for patients
• Assess patients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterile operating room
• Perform count procedures to prevent unintended retained foreign objects and verify correct site, side, and level for procedures
• Maintain patient status across genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, as well as fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders
• Involve patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher)
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification
• Minimum of 1 year previous experience in Perioperative Nursing
