OR Care Technician II

About the role

Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN. Includes all the job responsibilities of an OR Care Tech I, expanding them to an advanced level. Functions as a preceptor for new staff.

Responsibilities

• Established knowledge of creating and maintaining a sterile field
• Scrubbing and assisting within the surgical procedure
• Use of specialized beds and positioning equipment, sterilizers, and specialized video equipment
• Use of Navigation, and lasers used within the department

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• 1 year of Patient Care or 1 year of Surgical Related experience

Preferred: 2 years of Patient Care.
