Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Transports patients to and from surgery and PACU safely
- Assists Operating Room personnel in positioning patients
- Assists Operating Room personnel in setting up cases; opens sterile items to surgical field
- Cleans and maintains surgery areas between cases, at end of day, weekly, and monthly schedules
- Decontaminates operating room and all removable equipment between cases
- Collects, segregates, and disposes of all waste materials in all areas
- Maintains levels of scrub supplies, solutions, caps, shoe covers, and cleaning supplies
- Removes and replaces all linen on patient beds and gurneys as necessary
- Cleans and maintains autoclaves every other week
- Operates and maintains all equipment used in meeting job responsibilities
- Develops familiarity with precautions, use, and disposal methods of all chemicals used
- Demonstrates competence in relation to the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan
- Assists with training new employees
- Ability to cross-train to other operational areas
- Completes required hours of orthopedic education topics annually for Hip and Knee program certification
- Meets clinical competencies of hip and knee certification program to directly care for Hip and Knee patients
- Performs other duties as assigned
