About the role
Warby Parker is seeking a patient-focused and dynamic Part-Time Optometrist to join one of its affiliated independent optometry practices. The practice is located adjacent to a Warby Parker retail location. You will practice under the clinical direction of the practice's supervising optometrist(s).
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations in line with established clinical protocols and standards of care
- Partner with the store team to create an exceptional patient experience while working together to grow the eye exam business at your location
- Prescribe eyewear, contacts, and eye health solutions tailored to each patient's needs, and educate them on their options
- Diagnose and treat a variety of vision conditions, including refractive error and ocular health assessments, while ensuring accuracy to help patients see (and feel) their best
- Share eye care knowledge with the team to help them confidently support patients throughout their journey
- Be a visible and engaged clinical presence to reinforce our commitment to eye care, strengthen brand awareness around exams, and ensure a seamless, elevated patient experience
- Use modern digital exam lanes and EMR tools to streamline care and ensure precision, striving for an excellent patient experience
- Serve as a brand ambassador by educating and inspiring patients and team members, reinforcing our leadership in eye care within the community
- Support key performance goals by delivering excellent clinical care
- Collaborate closely with the Store Leader to align on goals and strategies to build a strong OD + store team partnership
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient examinations and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols
- Maintain State Licensure in good standing and meet all Continuing Education/State requirements
- Serve as a brand ambassador by educating and inspiring patients and team members, reinforcing our leadership in eye care within the community
- Perform other tasks as needed to provide an exceptional patient experience
Requirements
- A Doctor of Optometry licensed in the state where you practice, in good standing
- Dedicated to leading by example, inspiring your team through exceptional patient care, collaboration, and a strong work ethic
- Business-minded and driven to deliver results
- Excited by a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and proactive in driving innovation and problem-solving
- Knowledgeable about (and eager to incorporate) new technology into your work
- Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, including staying up to date with the latest in clinical practices
- Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and otherwise not excluded, debarred, precluded, or sanctioned by or from participation in any government health care program or commercial insurance plan
