About the Role

Warby Parker is looking for a patient-focused and dynamic Part-Time Optometrist to join one of its affiliated independent optometry practices, adjacent to a Warby Parker retail location. You will practice under the clinical direction of the practice's supervising optometrist(s). The ideal candidate is a true team player and strong communicator with a passion for delivering remarkable vision care in a collaborative environment, striving to exceed patient expectations.

As a part-time OD, you'll provide exceptional clinical care while enjoying a flexible schedule. You'll work closely with a supportive team to deliver a seamless, best-in-class patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations in line with established clinical protocols and standards of care
  • Partner with the store team to create an exceptional patient experience while working together to grow the eye exam business at your location
  • Prescribe eyewear, contacts, and eye health solutions tailored to each patient's needs, and educate them on their options
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of vision conditions, including refractive error and ocular health assessments, while ensuring accuracy to help patients see (and feel) their best
  • Share eye care knowledge with the team to help them confidently support patients throughout their journey
  • Be a visible and engaged clinical presence to reinforce our commitment to eye care, strengthen brand awareness around exams, and ensure a seamless, elevated patient experience
  • Use modern digital exam lanes and EMR tools to streamline care and ensure precision, striving for an excellent patient experience
  • Support key performance goals by delivering excellent clinical care
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Leader to align on goals and strategies to build a strong OD + store team partnership
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient examinations and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols
  • Maintain State Licensure in good standing and meet all Continuing Education/State requirements
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by educating and inspiring patients and team members, reinforcing our leadership in eye care within the community
  • Perform other tasks as needed to provide an exceptional patient experience

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Optometry licensed in the state where you practice, in good standing
  • Dedicated to leading by example, inspiring your team through exceptional patient care, collaboration, and a strong work ethic
  • Business-minded and driven to deliver results
  • Excited by a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and proactive in driving innovation and problem-solving
  • Knowledgeable about (and eager to incorporate) new technology into your work
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, including staying up to date with the latest in clinical practices
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and otherwise not excluded, debarred, precluded, or sanctioned by or from participation in any government health care program or commercial insurance plan

Pay

Warby Parker is committed to pay transparency. We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes a competitive base hourly rate and variable compensation for eligible employees. The range listed is a good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and relevant market data.

Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay if required to work more than 40 hours in a workweek.
