Responsibilities
- Aid optometrists in delivering outstanding patient care, from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up
- Perform diagnostic tests, gather patient medical histories, and assist in educating patients about their vision benefits
- Guide patients in contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling their next visit
- Ensure smooth patient flow by coordinating appointments and managing office communications
- Work closely with your team to meet individual and collective goals for optimal patient care and satisfaction
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and connect with patients
- Strong organizational and time management abilities—you’ll be multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a passion for self-improvement and a desire to learn new skills
- Detail-focused and capable of documenting patient exams and procedures with accuracy
- Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules as needed and a proactive attitude toward team success
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as an Optometric Assistant or equivalent
- Knowledge of optical equipment and procedures
