What You’ll Be Doing
- Assists patients in selecting frames and lenses
- Knowledgeable about optical related products
- Performs patient pretesting including oral history and gathering data using diagnostic instruments
- Repairs, adjusts, and orders eye glass frames
- Teaches new contact lens wearers how to apply, remove, clean, and care for lenses
- Performs tasks involving insurance verification, billing, and coding
- Schedules appointments and scans/fills in charts
- Aids in managing data through reports and graphs related to inventory, volume, and efficiency in the dispensary and patient care area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year recent experience working in an eye care position or in a healthcare setting involving direct patient care
- Experience with computers and office machines, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, One Note)
- Experience with electronic health record
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
- FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals
- Certified Para-Optometric Assistant (CPOA)
- American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification upon hire
- Para-optometric designation (CPO) upon hire
