Optometric Assistant (Telehealth) Part Time

About the role

The Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS)/Optometric Assistant (Telehealth) is the face of patient care during remote eye exams. This role guides patients through the entire Visionworks experience, ensuring their eye exam and eyewear needs are met in a simple, human, and bold way. The specialist is trained in eye health, preliminary testing, optics, Visionworks products/services, and managed vision care.

Responsibilities

• Assist remote eye exam processes and act as liaison between patients and Telemedicine Remote Physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the Optometrist (OD) and provide the OD with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor, supplying associates with necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet eye‑care needs.
• Execute day‑to‑day operational activities to support the store’s exam lane maintenance and patient‑experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
• Take patients through the entire Visionworks experience, ensuring their eye exam and eyewear needs are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Related job experience; customer or patient experience preferred but not required.

Pay

Part‑time position with an hourly rate of $12.82 – $17.29, based on experience and other job‑related factors. Compensation may include eligible bonuses, equity, and commissions.
