Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain community-specific option catalogs, ensuring offerings are current, feasible, and aligned with product standards.
  • Cook with Purchasing, Architecture, Construction, Design Studio, and Sales to validate option details, pricing, and documentation.
  • Review construction plans, elevations, and specifications to ensure options are properly detailed and accurately integrated.
  • Respond to field and internal team inquiries related to option feasibility, conflicts, or build requirements.
  • Support the launch of new communities and plans by preparing option sheets, documentation, and updates for system configuration.
  • Analyze option performance trends and provide recommendations to improve profitability, customer appeal, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot option-related issues and implement corrective improvements.
  • Contribute to process enhancements that improve accuracy, communication flow, and consistency across option offerings.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience OR 6–8 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of residential construction fundamentals and build processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, and construction documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator able to explain option details, standards, and policies to cross-functional partners.
  • Proficient in project coordination with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and functional areas.
  • Solid organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related platforms (e.g., plan review tools, ERP systems).
  • Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on accuracy and service.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment.
  • Periodic visits to construction sites may be required, where exposure to outdoor weather, uneven surfaces, and active construction activity may occur.
  • Occasional travel to community sites or vendor meetings as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods to perform computer-based work.
  • Ability to stand and walk during site visits, including navigating uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or documents up to 20 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to visually review detailed drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
