About the role

The Optical Technician will contribute to a high-quality Total Patient Experience, enhancing retail sales while supporting patients' medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Total Patient Experience to build strong patient relationships and deliver exceptional medical support
• Determine patient needs and sell products to meet their expectations
• Select frames based on style and color, ensuring they align with facial and eye measurements and prescriptions
• Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and frames suitable for their needs
• Accurately measure patients for frames, including bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense and adjust glasses and contact lens orders following established processes
• Operate and maintain auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
• Repair and adjust patient frames as needed

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Favorable results on background checks as required by state
• Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED required

Licenses and Credentials

• ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required

Systems and Technology

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

• Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
