We are currently seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Optician to join our team at two locations: Coraopolis and Moon Township. Lots of exciting changes in our practice with a new state-of-the-art facility being built in Moon Township and two new O.D.s have joined our practice. Growth opportunity exists for team members personally and professionally!

We are also hiring an ophthalmic technician, so if you have the skillset to do both then please apply.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in selecting eyewear, including frames and lenses, based on their prescription and personal preferences.
  • Conduct accurate measurements for eyewear fittings, ensuring a comfortable and precise fit.
  • Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and enhancements to meet their visual needs.
  • Verify and interpret prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
  • Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed, ensuring they maintain optimal functionality and comfort.
  • Maintain an organized and aesthetically pleasing eyewear display area.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Keep up-to-date with eyewear trends, lens technologies, and industry developments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens options.
  • Proficiency in taking precise measurements for eyewear fittings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with optometrists and support staff.
  • Likes to help people with a positive attitude and enjoys laughing and smiling with patients and co-workers.

We want a great personality and are willing to train skills even if you don't have a great deal of experience in opticianry.
