About the role

New Store Opening Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Manager to lead and support a team of Opticians in providing exceptional eyewear experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to meet all their eyewear needs
  • Take and record measurements, adjust, and fit eyewear with accuracy
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
  • Manage a team of Opticians, provide feedback, and lead by example
  • Implement retail experience programs to increase customer loyalty and engagement
  • Report to the Store Leader and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants
  • Stay updated with HR policies and resources to maintain a positive work environment
  • Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations

Requirements

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states requiring a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states
  • Experience in a management position for at least two years
  • A strong leader and mentor who models behavior and drives optical metrics
  • Able to operate professionally and make decisions for the team
  • A clear and effective communicator who can explain technical terms to customers
  • Dedicated to exceeding customer expectations and team goals
  • Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing tasks and responsibilities
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Warby Parker offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary/hourly rate and variable compensation. Final compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and relevant market data.
