About the role
Dr. Huo's Laboratory at the Crop Transformation Center is seeking a highly motivated and skilled OPS Research Associate to join a dynamic research team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on the gene editing of multiple plant species.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on tissue culture, plant transformation, gene cloning, and routine plant care.
- Independently execute data collection and analysis; synthesize findings into clear, timely results for quarterly project reports.
- Mentor undergraduate student researchers and collaborate effectively with lab members as well as external research collaborators.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Agronomy, or a closely related field; OR
- Master's degree in a plant biology-related field with at least 2 years of relevant research experience.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in plant tissue culture, transformation techniques, molecular/gene cloning, and plant maintenance.
- Strong ability to conduct independent data collection, data analysis, and technical report writing.
- A strong track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications is highly preferred.
Pay
$18 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.
