Responsibilities

The MagLab DCFF is seeking a skilled, reliable, and motivated Handy-Person to support a series of facility improvement and refurbishment projects. This is a time-limited, project-focused role responsible for performing a variety of small repairs, light maintenance tasks, cleaning and space-preparation activities within industrial, experimental, laboratory, and office environments.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with interior painting and surface preparation
  • Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, repair, or handy-person work.
  • Strong ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a teamwork-oriented, can do outlook.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in all work environments.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and working on ladders.
  • Familiarity with basic tools (hand tools, drills, sanders, etc.).

  • Work Environment: This role involves moving between a variety of facility spaces, including industrial, experimental, laboratory, and administrative areas. Safety training will be provided and must be followed at all times.

  • Anticipated Salary Range: This position will be 40 hours a week at $20 an hour. The duration of this temporary position is 46 weeks.
