Opportunities Supporting Space Force in Colorado Springs
Location: Colorado Springs, CO | Full-Time | Must be a US citizen with a Secret clearance (or ability to obtain). Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
About the role
SAIC provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position supports the Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO, conducting Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems. The role involves defining next-generation space-based telecommunication systems for legacy and transitioning SATCOM capabilities, serving the Joint Force and International Partners.
Responsibilities
- Support Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) activities in a multidisciplinary Sustainment Master Scheduler role:
- Manage a realistic and executable Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the program, incorporating data from Integrated Product Team (IPT) planning, program partner schedulers, and subcontract schedules.
- Serve as an Enterprise Requirements and Integration Engineer:
- Provide senior-level enterprise systems engineering and technical leadership for SATCOM capabilities.
- Lead enterprise architecture development, requirements and technical baseline management, systems integration, risk analysis, governance, and decision-support activities.
- Coordinate extensively with government, acquisition, operational, and industry stakeholders.
- Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to support development of the technical baseline.
- Act as a Software Delivery Lead:
- Coordinate software deliveries and operational acceptance activities across Agile development teams, operational stakeholders, and mission organizations.
- Track delivery readiness, operational dependencies, and release timelines with Agile development teams.
- Serve as a Transition to Operations Specialist:
- Provide leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for SSC.
- Develop and/or evaluate life cycle documentation, including project reports, briefings, System Transition Plans, provisioning documents, Operational Acceptance (OA) and Initial Operational Capability (IOC) Plans, Materiel Fielding Plans (MFP), OA/IOC criteria, Integrated Schedules, Agreements, Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation.
- Act as a SATCOM Enterprise Operations Integration Specialist:
- Provide expertise in planning, scheduling, analysis, acquisition, operational concepts, requirements verification, site activation, technical documentation, and capability integration of SATCOM capabilities at SSF.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) or more years of experience; or Master’s degree and seven (7) or more years of experience.
- Must be a US citizen with a Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
Pay
Target salary range: $120,001 – $160,000, based on experience.
