About the role

Georgia Eye Partners is a specialty eye care practice in Metro Atlanta comprised of ophthalmologist and optometrists dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality medical and surgical eye care. Our services range from general eye care to complex surgical care for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and refractice. We offer LASIK and other refractive surgery options as well as oculoplastic surgery and laser aethetic procedures through OPAL Aesthetics.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ophthalmologist and optometrists by gathering data pertaining to the patient’s ocular health status.
• Proficient in performing appropriate clinical tests, drawing on formal education and/or clinical experience that provide a solid understanding of the theory and principles of eye care.
• Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by the type of exam scheduled, patient complaint and/or patient history.
• Act as a medical scribe while physician examines patient, entering data into electronic medical records.
• Take an ocular and systemic history and accurately record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under the direction of the physician.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures ensuring proper informed consent is obtained
