About the role

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Life Sciences, we have an opportunity for an Ophthalmic Technician who wants to jumpstart their career at a unique startup in eye health.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with patients to perform Ophthalmic testing utilizing cutting-edge equipment and technology to accurately assess vision, eye pressure, retinal imaging and more
  • Drive our mobile clinic throughout different states where patients need access to care. (Commercial driver’s license is not necessary).
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications for operating equipment onboard the mobile eye clinic
  • Build reports and transmit data precisely, as instructed per each clinical protocol
  • Communicate with patients and update them with pertinent information for their visit
  • Enter data and transmit information to sponsors, PIs, and reading centers
  • Ensure data is accurate, timely, and acceptable upon submission
  • Travel 100% of the time

Qualifications

  • You are a certified Paraoptometric or Ophthalmic Technician, but it is not a requirement
  • You have had experience with patients in a clinic setting
  • You may have ophthalmic testing/experience
  • You have experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting
  • You are a great communicator who enjoys helping people and is responsive to patient/client needs in a timely manner
  • You are curious about new subjects and interested in learning new things
  • You are an adventurer who likes to drive and travel
  • You are a dependable & organized team player
  • You pay attention to the details and can capture that data in a way that maximizes a positive patient/client experience
  • You manage tasks and responsibilities appropriately, prioritizing the most pressing needs
  • You are flexible to work outside of a typical Monday-Friday 9-5
