Ophthalmic Assistant (F)

Responsibilities

• Aids in patient exams and treatments.
• Performs tests such as visual acuity measurement, color vision assessment, lensometry, keratometry, pupil function evaluation, tonometry, automated perimetry, extraocular muscle measurements, visual field assessments, and other patient services as needed.
• Documents patient’s chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and ocular findings.
• Serves as a scribe, documenting clinically relevant interactions and dialogues on behalf of the provider.
• Provides patient education under the guidance of the eye care provider.
