About the role

US Eye, a physician-led, patient-centric network of eye care practices, is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join their team in Bluffton, SC. Carolina Eyecare Physicians, one of the nation’s leading multi-disciplinary physician groups, also has an opening for an Ophthalmic Assistant.

Essential Job Functions

• Take histories and perform various procedures and tests for patients
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications
• Conduct tonometry tests to measure intraocular pressure
• Measure visual acuity
• Document patients' medical histories
• Conduct visual field tests to measure field of vision
• Instruct patients on the care and use of contact lenses

Education and Experience

• Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus

• Experience in optometry or ophthalmology a plus

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with the home office located in Bluffton, SC. Travel to Hilton Head and Lady's Island is required.
