About the role
Support clinic physicians by performing a variety of ophthalmic procedures and documenting patient information.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as lensometry, visual acuity, tonometry, and ocular measurements
- Administer medications
- Assist with procedures
- Explain post-operative instructions
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of medical/ophthalmic scribing experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED; some college or Associate’s degree preferred
- JCAHPO certification and CPR preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in EMR and computer literacy
- A second language is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality
