Responsibilities
- Performing patient workups and preliminary tests including visual acuity, patient history, lensometry and other tests in accordance with protocol.
- Performing various diagnostic tests as directed, but not limited to, keratometry, topography, tonometry, pachymetry and visual fields as indicated.
- Facilitates efficient patient flow by monitoring schedules, patient medical records, and potential schedule conflicts; resolves and communicates with OD/MD as necessary.
- Triage patient phone calls by answering questions and resolving concerns as directed to achieve patient satisfaction.
- Sending prescriptions to patients’ pharmacies as requested by the doctor, and handling prior authorization requests as needed.
- Participating in regular team meetings and reports team progress to ensure effective team and inter-department communications.
- Actively participating in ongoing professional self-development to enhance training and skills.
Requirements
You Have A high school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience and/or training with completion of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) home study preferred.
Previous patient care experience preferred.
