OpEx Process Specialist
About the role
The successful candidate will lead and identify projects for process improvements and support process and cultural improvement initiatives within the Operational Excellence (OpEx) platform. This individual will lead multiple projects utilizing Lean, TPM, and Six-Sigma tool sets, providing analytic analysis and supporting others in problem solving using the DMAIC methodology. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, work well independently and with a team, and have a passion for driving key business results using the OpEx toolset.
This role requires adherence to Company policies & SOPs, Zoetis Values, and global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), as well as environmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support projects pertaining to cost reduction/avoidance, process stability, and technology transfer. Develop and execute plans with a team to achieve and sustain improvements.
- Support the site with data analysis for strategy deployment and other initiatives as needed.
- Lead or support capability building for colleagues in Lean Six Sigma tools, developing OpEx content with guidance as needed.
- Coach and mentor Yellow Belt & Green Belt colleagues in conjunction with the Zoetis Production System.
- Work with colleagues across the site to capture improvements and build capability within the Charles City Team.
- Complete Green Belt projects as assigned and deliver annual savings through improvement projects to meet site goals.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to drive cost and process improvement projects, partnering with finance to assign accurate project savings.
- Prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements
- 4-year STEM degree is required; BS/BSE in Engineering or Biologics is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical/analytical skills and high degree of personal motivation.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and TPM is strongly preferred.
- Six Sigma Certifications preferred or ability to complete Green Belt certification within the first 2 years of employment.
- Laboratory and/or manufacturing experience in biological testing and/or manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in GLP or GMP and biologics regulatory is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact across divisional boundaries.

Physical Requirements
- Able to become qualified to enter clean room environments.
- Physical demands include: sitting, walking, standing, writing, typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and lifting.
- Work environment may include extreme temperatures (hot/cold) and humidity, limited lighting, crowded spaces, and typical office noise levels.
