About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Terminal Operator to join our team. In this role, you’ll ensure our products are handled, loaded, and shipped efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards. You’ll also perform hands-on equipment maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize daily terminal operations, ensuring seamless logistics and customer service.
- Oversee the safe and efficient loading and unloading of bulk materials, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on terminal equipment to ensure peak working condition.
- Uphold Cemex’s rigorous safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, resolving inquiries and issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize schedules and resources, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
- Assist in training new team members, sharing expertise to elevate team performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications or training in welding, electrical work, or maintenance are a plus.
- Experience in terminal operations or a similar industrial setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude with the ability to work well with customers and colleagues.
- Capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
Working Conditions
- Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols is mandatory.
- Work in diverse environments, including exposure to outdoor industrial operations and varying conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, and operating equipment as part of daily routine.
Pay
The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $26.00 to $34.09 per hour, depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education.
