Responsibilities
- Safely operate drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer.
- Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
- Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
- Be responsible for the site set-up and clean-up.
- Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck.
- Be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis – JSA prior to starting construction.
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
- A valid standard Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
- An MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company.
- Able to maintain a safe work environment.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
- Able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call.
- Experienced with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations.
- Able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities.
- May have experience with drill set up and design processes.
- May able to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructions.
- Able to climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects.
- May have previous construction or utility construction experience.
Qualifications
- Able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
- Able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
- May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
- May include working nights and holidays as needed.
- May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
Skills
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.
- Exposure to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
- Exposure to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.

Pay
The Telecom Drill Bores Operator hourly wage range is $20.00 - $35.00, depending on experience.
Schedule
Remote work may be required; long driving and sitting will be required. The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
- Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Working Environment
- Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
