About the role
Responsible for setting up and operating complex Stick Pack and Bartelt packaging equipment used to produce single-serve powder packets.
Responsibilities
- Set up, sanitize, operate, and perform routine maintenance on Stick Pack and Bartelt equipment.
- Continuously monitor product quality and operational procedures throughout production runs.
- Monitor production lines to ensure equipment is operating properly, efficiently, and safely.
- Identify issues and promptly escalate problems that cannot be resolved.
- Review packaging specifications and configure equipment according to the requirements of each product.
- Inspect the production line and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness and that no materials or obstructions interfere with product flow or equipment operation. Use "Clean" and "Dirty" tags as required.
- Inspect packaging materials, film, and powder and communicate any quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Develop a thorough understanding of equipment functions, capabilities, limitations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Complete all required production documentation at the end of each production run and workday.
- Meet or exceed established production targets and operating standards.
- Clean and sanitize equipment at the completion of each production run. Coordinate with QC personnel for required hygiene swab testing and complete all applicable sanitation documentation.
- Utilize equipment manuals and technical documentation when necessary for operation, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two to four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Viking 10-Lane Stick Pack Equipment preferred or Mespack, Viking Masek, Turpack, Universal Pack, Sanko, Matrix, and Syntegon/Bosch Sachet Equipment.
- Prior machine operation experience required; high-speed packaging or stick pack/Bartelt experience strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Strong communication skills and basic mathematical ability.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and high standards.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a changing production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on complex equipment and projects with general direction and limited supervision.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow applicable safety requirements and precautions.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Pay
$25–35/hr
