Operator (Second Shift)

About the Role

Under the direction of Plant Supervision, this individual sets up and operates slitting machines to slit continuous lengths of film material, meeting delivery requirements and quality standards to customer specifications. This full-time position is responsible for operating packaging equipment in accordance with production and customer specifications, including line efficiencies, equipment performance, and finished product quality.

Responsibilities

• Continually support production with supplies, tests, and equipment adjustments to meet required production rates.
• Communicate well with team members and make equipment adjustments in a timely manner to address potential product failures.
• Perform roll changes and document required traceability information.
• Document daily activities accurately (e.g., downtime, quality tests, production).
• Independently complete assigned job set-up tasks in a timely manner.
• Achieve equipment/production targets and participate in identifying/correcting deficiencies.
• Identify and proactively communicate equipment malfunctions, spare part, and service needs.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school-level mathematics proficiency.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documents in English.
• Ability to accurately complete required production records.
• Understanding of standard and metric measurements.

Schedule

2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, with overtime possible on Friday and Saturday.

Pay

Full-time hourly non-exempt rate: $20.00 to $24.00/hr. based on experience, plus a $1.00 2nd shift premium.
