About the role
The reticulation operator is responsible for operating the reticulation chamber to meet production demands while adhering to HS&E practices and customer quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Obtains a copy of the daily production schedule
- Operates the reticulation chamber
- Identifies process concerns using problem-solving skills
- Inspects the foam for post-reticulation defects
- Loads the reticulation chamber using a squeeze lift
- Notifies the production supervisor or team lead of any process concerns
- Promotes teamwork & cooperation through the use of Lean tools, WPS, TWI, Book Club, 5S, TPM, etc.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by shift supervisor
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and write simple correspondence
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers, decimals, and fractions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing
- Regular lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Schedule
- Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift
- Schedule hours may be altered as required by business conditions
- An ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays is essential for this position
