Operator, Reticulation

About the role

The reticulation operator is responsible for operating the reticulation chamber to meet production demands while adhering to HS&E practices and customer quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Obtains a copy of the daily production schedule
• Operates the reticulation chamber
• Identifies process concerns using problem-solving skills
• Inspects the foam for post-reticulation defects
• Loads the reticulation chamber using a squeeze lift
• Notifies the production supervisor or team lead of any process concerns
• Promotes teamwork & cooperation through the use of Lean tools, WPS, TWI, Book Club, 5S, TPM, etc.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by shift supervisor

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and write simple correspondence
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers, decimals, and fractions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing
• Regular lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Schedule

• Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift
• Schedule hours may be altered as required by business conditions
• An ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays is essential for this position
