Operator, Production, 1st shift ($2k sign on bonus) Schenectady, NY

Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM in Schenectady, NY (USA). $2,000 sign-on bonus.

About the role

As an Operator, Production, you will be a key part of a diverse workforce. This is a physical role with a lot of variety where you’ll enjoy collaborating with your coworkers to make what we do and how we do it, even better. You’ll handle raw materials (dry pre-mix powders) of up to 55 lbs, monitor equipment and processes, analyze products, and carry out minor maintenance tasks. The dsm-firmenich Health, Nutrition and Care (HNC) Business Unit operates three premix manufacturing sites in North America, producing liquids and dry blends for dietary supplements, infant formula premixes, and food. Schenectady is the largest site and a focal point for business performance in the region and globally.

Responsibilities

• Handle raw materials: transport from storage to dispensary, weigh per batch formula, and add to required mixer.
• Load blenders, complete final packaging, and sample per batch requirement.
• Inspect both raw materials and finished goods.
• Safely palletize and store raw materials and/or finished goods.
• Follow the 4-eye principle guideline at all times.
• Work unsupervised across all areas of the production process.
• Demonstrate advanced process knowledge.
• Monitor, report, and document equipment failures; record exceptions, deviations, and actions taken.
• Report disturbances to the Supervisor or backup supervisor and communicate production process adjustments/concerns.
• Take samples of raw materials and finished goods for quality and analytical testing.

Requirements

• Excellent collaboration skills.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills.
• At least one year of prior manufacturing working experience (preferred).
• Due to FDA safety and health requirements, the position does not allow for facial hair or artificial nails.
• Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment), including a respirator, consistently throughout the shift.

Pay

Base hourly pay of $21.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM EST.
