Responsibilities
- Perform filling and packaging operations.
- Verify line clearance, bulk product, and literature to prevent product/literature mix-ups.
- Operate and set up filters, cartoners, and labelers, performing all quality checks and documentation per company SOPs, SOFs, and cGMPs.
- Release lines by following process instructions, completing documentation, and performing accurate calculations in packaging records.
- Perform all functions during line changeovers and make minor equipment adjustments.
- Complete final packaging record documentation accurately before submission.
- Participate in the training of operators.
- Perform filling and packaging inspection duties accurately and efficiently.
- Execute line start-up/clean-up procedures and complete related documentation.
- Demonstrate mastery of equipment safety features, including starting and stopping filling and packaging equipment.
- Recognize and report safety concerns by initiating a “Safety Near Miss” form (if applicable) and implement corrective actions.
- Recognize and report product quality-related deficiencies.
- Handle product waste removal and disposal.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred and/or relevant work experience.
- Ability to operate multiple lines.
- Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and problem-solving skills to improve line quality, efficiency, and safety.
Skills
- Proficiency with various pieces of filling and packaging equipment, including fillers, cartoners, bundlers, case packers, tape machines, motorized and manual pallet jacks, and pallet lifts.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Required to don proper GMP gowning and PPE prior to entering production areas (lab coat with sleeves at wrist level, hairnet, beard cover if applicable, procedure mask, and gloves when working over open product or componentry).
- Safety glasses must be worn while inside all production rooms.
- Ability to withstand repetitive work.
- Ability to stand for long periods with moderate bending and/or stretching.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail while performing duties.
