Operator (Melt) II- 3rd Shift (Roll Cover)

Responsibilities

• Extrudes different fluorocarbon resins.
• Sets up all equipment needed to run product using setup cards provided.
• Cleans melt tooling and reassembles extruders.
• Writes legibly and keeps accurate records.
• Maintains a clean, neat workplace.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations.
• Follows instructions, both oral and written.
• Labels and prepares orders for shipping.
• Uses computer equipment as required.
• Performs lifting and reaching up to a height of approximately 72 inches and handles units up to 60 pounds.
• Stands and walks for sustained periods in the Melt area.
• Moves equipment as required.
• Uses required safety equipment: respirators, heat- and solvent-resistant gloves, safety glasses, and face shields.
• Calculates setups and works with hot tooling at temperatures of 450°F or higher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and adapt to different situations.
• Physical ability to push, pull, lift, reach to a height of 72 inches, and handle hot material.
• Ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspection to detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation of products.
• Basic mathematical skills (fractions, percentages, and decimals).
• Spatial reasoning and legible reading/writing skills.
• Ability to stand for sustained periods in the general melt area.
• Ability to repetitively torque bolts to 110 ft-lbs.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; unscheduled absence or tardiness negatively impacts production objectives.
• Must meet WorkKeys/WIN requirements (Level 3 for Reading & Level 4 for Math).
