Operator, LETNA

About the role

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking Equipment/Machine Operators and Heavy Equipment Operators to work at their Levy Evertz Technology location in Calvert, Alabama. The positions involve processing steel slab surfaces and operating heavy off-road mobile equipment, respectively.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect slab surface as they are being processed to ensure defects are being removed
• Process each individual slab as required by mill instructions
• Complete Daily Inspection forms
• Enter sequence number into panel view for data collection
• Aware of any mechanical/electrical malfunctions of equipment and report
• Perform all machine grinding activities within SOP procedures
• Cleaning work area as as necessary
• Work closely with Shift Maintenance Technician
• Shoveling swarf from work areas
• Other duties as directed by supervisor

Requirements

• A team and safety oriented mentality
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Tolerate noise and heat in heavy industrial setting
• Basic Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of basic computers
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to sit/stand/shovel/push/pull for extended period of time
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in similar roles preferred
• Valid driver’s license
