Operator III

About the role

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an experienced Operator III to join their South Shore Asphalt Group. The position involves operating various pieces of equipment including a rubber-tired backhoe/excavator, base roller, small asphalt roller, and powerbroom. Responsibilities also include performing basic repairs and maintenance on equipment, connecting equipment to its attachments using hand tools, and performing laborer duties when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operating a rubber-tired backhoe/excavator, base roller, small asphalt roller, and powerbroom
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance on the equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and fueling
• Connecting equipment to its attachments using hand tools to accomplish these tasks
• Performing activities of a laborer when not operating the equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity
• The maximum unassisted lift requirement is 51 pounds for all physical job descriptions
• Must observe all safety protocols

Experience/Skills Required

• Minimum of 1 year experience in the road or construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather
• Able to read, understand, and write simple sentences, and perform simple mathematical equations
