About the role
This position functions in a team-based environment, efficiently operating assigned equipment to produce product at prescribed standards while minimizing material waste and production loss. The role oversees all aspects of line functions, maintains KPIs (including OEE and Quality Standards), and promotes a safety-oriented and team-based culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform all job functions in a safe manner, complying with plant safety policies and wearing proper PPE.
- Work and promote a team-based environment.
- Set up the production line and conversion after CIP cleaning.
- Perform CIP/COP according to the cleaning plan and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain a sanitary work environment by checking cleaning results through swab testing and rinse water samples.
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and dry, including the exterior and interior of machinery.
- Gather necessary ingredients and raw materials, clean and sanitize the production area, and verify recipe specifications in the program memory.
- Mix batches according to recipe specifications and work instructions.
- Deliver samples to the laboratory and transfer laboratory-approved batches to tanks.
- Create and maintain documentation related to production, quality, and safety, including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Detect and correct faults or deviations during the mixing process, monitor equipment for abnormalities, and solve minor problems independently.
- Eliminate technical deficiencies and communicate effectively with maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and repair needs.
- Comply with all GMP and quality procedures, adhering to product specifications such as weight, size, machine output, labeling, code dates, and quality.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including moving supplies, filling in for teammates, and other assigned tasks.
- Understand and adhere to OSHA, HACCP, SQF, ISO, and safety requirements within a food manufacturing environment.
- Report food safety and quality concerns to supervision, quality, or senior management.
- Support the SQF system through adherence to plant policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Basic understanding and ability to use computers.
- Basic mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to understand mechanical concepts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physically able to climb ladders and portable stairways.
- Constant standing and/or walking on concrete floors required.
- Able to work, move, lift, slide, push, or carry heavy objects or materials.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years of manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience preferred.
- Two years of experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must be a committed team worker with a keen sense of responsibility and excellent attention to detail.
